01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
About this place
Situated along the street in Shimo-shakujii, Yuugao pours affordable cups of Paulista coffee, the historic roast long associated with its Ginza roots. Refills are offered for just 100 yen, and drinks occasionally arrive with a sweet-and-savory rice cracker, setting an easygoing, welcoming tone from the start.
The food menu centers on classic Japanese cafe staples. Diners can choose toast served with salad and coffee, spaghetti Neapolitan or meat sauce with salad, or pilaf accompanied by soup and salad. At lunchtime, an affordable set pairing rounded-top toast with ham, eggs, and salad makes a comforting, nourishing option.
While Yuugao functions as a daytime coffee shop, evening hours bring a broad beverage lineup, ranging from draft beer and highballs to shochu, cocktails like the gin fizz, and brandy. Seating around 12 guests in a tranquil, non-smoking room, it is a comfortable place to unwind at one's own pace with background music and casual chat with the master.
